David K. Arakelian
David Arakelian brings more than 25 years of business experience in ownership, senior management, strategic sales, marketing and technology development in the veterinary, healthcare, software, consumer e-commerce, telecommunications, real estate and construction industries.
Parallel with his SANDELL Consulting affiliation, he currently provides his services as a Senior Consultant within the veterinary industry providing technology and sales management expertise to veterinary distribution and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Mr. Arakelian led the team that developed the WebVetRx software and internet sales platform within Victor Medical. He has worked with Organon’s Animal Heath division Internet and Schering Plough providing strategic sales management. Prior to these positions, he was the General Manager for Wala North American, a specialized pharmaceutical and cosmetics company. There he designed and developed their U.S. business operations including manufacturing, sales, marketing and real estate acquisition. He directed the strategic channel partnership program at Wavve Telecommunications, a Cisco partnership garnering and managing strategic relationships with multinational firms, significantly increasing the company's direct and indirect sales efforts.
Mr. Arakelian also served as Director of Business development at Medselect, a privately held strategic services enterprise group, where he established and directed the new business development programs, formulary development and business process reengineering for major healthcare providers including PacifiCare, Catholic Healthcare West, and Kaiser Permanente. Mr. Arakelian was also Director of Business Development at Infotech Communications Group, a private strategic services enterprise group, where he established and directed the new business development programs targeted for major software, global manufacturing and specialty/themed construction firms. While at Infotech Mr. Arakelian worked extensively with real estate developers on land acquisition transactions. Prior to Infotech, Mr. Arakelian founded Bionica LTD, a medical device company. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing there, he guided the company rapid global growth, eventually leading to the company's acquisition.
He began his career in the family automobile franchise business, spending 5 years managing all facets of operations.. Arakelian received his Bachelor's Degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. He is a member of American Association of Health System Pharmacist (AAHP) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
